About Club Nova
The biggest nightclub in Nepal — four levels of music, lights and late nights in the heart of Thamel, Kathmandu.
Club Nova is the biggest nightclub in Nepal, built in the heart of Thamel on Chaksibari Marg. It was created with one goal: to give Kathmandu a night out that matches the best clubs in the world, and to give the thousands of travellers who pass through Thamel every year a reason to stay out until sunrise.
Step inside and the first thing you notice is that there are almost no straight lines. Instead of a box with a stage at one end, the club flows in curves — sweeping decks wrap around the main room so that wherever you stand, you can see the dance floor, the stage and the ceiling above it.
That ceiling is the heart of the show. Light rigs mounted on hydraulics rise, fall and change shape in time with the music and programmed animations, so the whole room moves with the DJ. The sound system was planned together with the building rather than added afterwards, which is why it sounds just as good on the upper decks as it does in front of the stage.
The venue spans around 1,300 square metres over four levels: a basement car park — rare in Thamel — a ground floor with the entrance, main dance floor, private seating and stage, and two upper floors of private decks, linked by stairs and a lift. It is licensed for 2,500 guests, with up to 590 on the main dance floor.

THE NOVA COSMIC GENESIS
Nova was conceptualized not merely as a venue, but as a cultural nexus in Kathmandu where sound, technology, and human electricity converge.

FOUR LEVELS, ONE UNIVERSE
Curved decks on the upper floors look straight down onto the dance floor, the stage and the moving ceiling.
In astronomy, a nova is the sudden, brilliant flare of a star. Club Nova Kathmandu was built around that idea — a space where every night feels like the sky lighting up over Thamel.
On Chaksibari Marg in the heart of Thamel, Club Nova brings international nightlife standards together with Kathmandu’s warm hospitality. Around 1,300 m² across four levels make it the biggest nightclub in Nepal — with room for 2,500 guests, private decks, a stage for live acts and a ceiling that moves with the music.
An international-standard sound system planned together with the building, covering every level evenly.
A hydraulically operated ceiling light system that rises, falls and changes shape in sync with the music.
Trained security, strict 18+ photo-ID checks at the door and a team that looks after your night.
From Ritviz, Monali Thakur and Shefali Alvares to Nepal’s own Bikki Gurung — national and international acts.
